For those of you who don’t know much about Craigslist, it’s a great online resource to get jobs, gigs, cheap furniture, murdered, etc. Craigslist is also where I started my New York apartment search.
Some notable posts:
East Village Bedroom - $750/month - a three-person share for $750 in the East Village sounded too good to be true. News flash: it was.
Can you call something a bedroom if it lacks a door, closet, window or space to fit a bed? Isn’t that just a hallway? I would have even considered paying $750 for the “hallway” if the shower wasn’t in the kitchen, the toilet in the boiler room, and the lone window overlooking a broken fire escape.
$550 room Right off Bedford L, with own private bathroom - The room was a bathroom, with a mattress in it.
$700 West Village Apartment- Seriously, $700 a month to live on a gorgeous block in the West Village! And all you’re asking in return is for your roommate to (and I’m paraphrasing) walk around in her underwear and help you relax when you get home.
… as long as I don’t have to take out the trash!
